Seperti yang sudah tertulis di bio, singkat deskripsi bahwa saya mendedikasikan ini kepada seseorang. Sudah jelas tertera di sana, semua cerita yang ada adalah rentetan kisah dan kumpulan momen…

The Untold Stories

When life gets so busy all you can write are the titles…

The last time I posted anything on Medium, it was March and chilly. Note that I’m holding my cane because I was still hobbling around on my old, wobbly, PAINFUL hip. Much has changed, though you wouldn’t know it from reading my non-existent stories here… [Image: Nikki Tate]

I was shocked when I logged into Medium a few minutes ago to see what I’d last posted and when. What the heck happened?! My last story went up in March! Granted, we all went into lockdown and things got weird right about then, but wow — it’s not like I haven’t been writing.

I have. Daily. Pages and pages. How could I not?

Writing=I’m still alive.

Apparently, though, not much of that output has dribbled its way over here.

It’s been so long since I popped in here to see how things are going that I had also forgotten if there were any draft stories sitting in the queue that might be useful.

There are. 129 of them, to be precise.

I scrolled through the list looking for something that might be well on its way to completion and found there were a lot of stories that were no more than a title and perhaps a handful of words.

Reading through, I thought it might be fun to share the list… [And, yes, I totally own my failure to produce an actual new story because I got sucked down the rabbit hole of my good intentions as I read through the bits and pieces of unfinished stuff that may — or may not — someday see their way to completion.]

What do you have in your list of drafts? Which one will you pull out, dust off and post? Which one do you think caught my eye on this list?

MY DRAFTS LIST
[For those who don’t have piles of crap sitting in their draft stories, the list includes all that’s available to be seen before clicking through to the incomplete draft; the title, a snippet from the start of the story, and the word count so far. In many cases, I didn’t get past a title. In some cases, I didn’t even get that far.]

So, you may ask why bother sharing this at all? That’s a fair question and the reason why the draft of this not-much-of-a-story has been sitting in my drafts list for a week or two. What it does reveal is the rather boring process by which I capture ideas — lame though they may be. Themes emerge and so, too, does a storyline of sorts. Mostly, though, there’s a lot of discarded dross here, things about which I will probably never write.
