Nine VCs you can meet at SaaStock on Tour London

By Chris Murphy

Meeting investors and scheduling back to back meetings with them in the same day is one of the priceless parts of SaaStock. We are bringing that same experience at each and every of the 12 SaaStock on Tour events we are organising the next 12 months.

Damien is a full-time Venture Partner in Innovation Nest, backing early stage B2B tech companies across the UK & Europe, investing between €250k and€1M.

When he is not investing, Damien aims to have a zero waste household, going to great lengths to recycle everything and buy second hand were possible. To relax after a busy day, Damien likes to listen to air traffic control videos or on a day when the weather is nice, fly first-person view drones.

Lucile is Vice President at 8 Roads Ventures, which focuses on software and next generation financial services businesses. She is passionate about the European start-up community and believes it will be the birthplace of the next generation of global leaders. You can talk to her about patience as it has been a key thing to learn for her. In her own words “While it is good to have a sense of urgency and be eager to succeed, scaling up a company takes time. Similarly, developing a true relationship with an entrepreneur can take years.”

Patience is key for 8 Roads. Not beholden to fund lifecycles, fundraising, regulatory restrictions or strict investment mandates, they’ve invested in some of their portfolio companies for close to 25 years. Discipline accompanies these longer time frames, not only in properly assessing the merits of an investment theme and progress against ambitious milestones, but in knowing when they are wrong or when a business is better developed or owned by others.

This willingness to take a long term position when it’s required could invite someone to dismiss them as risk averse or slow-moving. They’re not.

Helena is an Associate at Highland Europe, a venture and growth-stage fund aiming to back sector-leading companies addressing large market opportunities on a pan-European basis or globally. Prior to TCV, Muz was an investor with Vector Capital in San Francisco and started his career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch. He also worked at T. Rowe Price, where he researched investment opportunities in the European technology sector. Muz has a keen interest in cricket, which he continues to enjoy despite being surrounded by an office full of football fans.

Margaret Perchik is an Associate at Prime Ventures, a venture capital and growth stage firm that invests in leading European technology companies. Prime leverages its capital, experience and network to actively guide their portfolio to become global category leaders. From their offices in the Netherlands and the UK, the independent partnership manages over €465m in committed capital.

Margaret Perchik joined Prime Ventures in 2017 as an Associate. Prior to joining Prime, she worked at MMC Ventures, a London-based venture capital fund, evaluating early stage technology investment opportunities across the UK. She was also part of the founding team at Public, a UK venture bringing together investment, technology and public sector insight to help startups solve public sector problems.
