4 Traits of Highly Independent Women

They aren’t scared to walk away from toxic relationships.

I admire independent women and have seen many examples of them in my life. One of them is my mom. She was a single parent for 11 years before she remarried. And she worked very hard to accommodate proper education for me and my brother.

You’ve probably also have seen many women like this. They are one of the reasons why we still believe in a healthy and stable relationship. Because these women are in charge of their own lives — they don’t complain and blame others for their misery.

There are many others traits of highly independent women. I remember I used to and still do look up these traits and apply as many as I could in my own life.

We all know that type of person who always blames their partner or other people for their feelings. Every shitty emotion they got, they think someone else caused it. Sure, we can’t control life, and sometimes bad things happen, but we indeed still have control over our own emotions and how we’d want to feel.

And independent women know this. Instead of letting other people ruin their day by being in a bad mood, they choose to shift their energy into something better.

When it comes to relationships, they also refuse to base their happiness on their partner. If they feel wrong about something, they’d go and do anything to make themselves feel better — rather than waiting for him to make her happy again.

Back in 2011, my mom got married to a man from her village, which she later realized it’s a wrong decision. Her relationship with the man was pretty much toxic, and the house was always full of negative vibes.
