This is the time of the year when behavior expectations and classroom management can start to feel a little stale. Especially after returning from a break, sometimes it can be helpful to give your…
I joined Medium in November 2018 as a reader, then signed up with the Member Partner Program soon after. The Medium company has made some big changes since then, e.g. MPP payments were calculated upon Member Reading Time from October 2019, rather than on number of claps.
Curation or distribution was started in February 2019 according to the Blogging Guide, link below.
Recently Medium announced the bonus scheme and said in one of their email newsletters to members that there will be further changes on Medium.
Well, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if in August they announce that curation will be no more, because their new and improved search function, using Tag names is sufficient for writers and their stories to be discovered.
Medium hasn’t told me this will happen, but a “little birdy” has.
I love going to the Topics page under “Control my recommendations” and Following / Topics. In the old days the homepage of Medium was rather different. There was a link to “ALL FROM FOLLOWING” under “New from your network” and clicking on this took you to the page under “Control my recommendations” showing you People / Topics / Publications that you are following.
Currently at the top of your Medium homepage there are round icons for Topics that you follow. So today when I clicked on one of these, to my surprise it took me to the TAG NAME with that topic name. Try it out for yourself. Before today the last time I clicked one of the Topic names of the Topics I am following, it took me to the actual Topic page.
For example, clicking on SELF usually took me to a page looking like the one below (which is a Topic Page).
Here is the URL for the SELF Topic page: https://medium.com/topic/self .
