The 2 Ways I Use To Come Up With Topics I Should Write Upon

And That’s A Promise.

Are you out of ideas? If you’re having some hard time coming up with a topic which you’d like to write about, this one’s for you. You see, this was one of the reasons I procrastinated from writing blogs. First, a few days, and then the time period started extending to weeks.

Do you know what happens when you are irregular with uploading your blogs? The traffic starts decreasing. And gradually people start to forget you. It happened to me a year ago.

I always loved writing, but most of the time, I didn’t have any specific topic on my mind. Sometimes I had brilliant ideas but never took note of them. That resulted in me, forgetting the topic after some time.

So I decided that I’ll stop whatever I was doing whenever an idea would pop in my mind to take note of it. I had a notepad. Sometimes when I forgot to carry it whenever I went outside, I’d just note the idea down in an app.

As I started doing this, something magical happened. I discovered 2 ways of coming up with more topics to write on… Much more topics!

So, I started putting the ideas that I discovered into use. And believe me, I never had the problem of coming up with an idea ever since.

Wanna know those secrets? I’ll tell you.

But wait… There’s more.

As a token of thanks for reading this story, I have a BONUS for you. Not 1… Not 2… Not even 5. I’ll give you 10 of the topics that I took note of when they came into my mind.

Yes, I’m serious.

Excited? So am I. Let’s hop right into it.

Take note of these…

There are topics that you find interesting and like to read about even if you know enough. Those topics can be anything. From Freelancing to Crime. From Technology to Animals. From Health to Communication Skills.

Write on anything of which you yourself are an audience.

For example, this blog itself. I was planning to write on some topic that I’ve never written before. So I googled “blog topics to write about”.

And then I realized: I could write a post about topics to write about. And so, here it is…

Well, if you are interested in SEO Optimization, read a few blogs and watch a few videos on the same on YouTube. Then consider writing an article on it. You’re applying the Feynman’s Technique, so you’ll understand better what you read about.

Time for some personal suggestions. But before that, I’d suggest you avoid writing on controversial topics.

Having said that, here are my recommendations:

Like the 30 days writing challenge, weight loss challenge, social media detox challenge, any sort of challenge for a week or a month.

A funny one, an emotional one, an exciting one… Anything would do. Writing itself is a process of healing from bad experiences. So don’t be afraid to write about your fears and insecurities.

Make sure to mention that you don’t intend to hurt someone with your words… It’s just your perspective and you may be wrong.

Why not? We all love reading about something that’d take us back to our childhood. Write about Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, Tom and Jerry… Whatever you like. You’ll enjoy writing about them very much.

I’m not talking about reviews. I’m talking about what you learned from watching that film. Think about it. You’ll find out something that you’ve learned. I took note of some catchy dialogues from Death Note. And learned a few jokes from Ant-Man. I use them whenever I’m in a similar situation to make people laugh.

If you love movies, consider doing a breakdown of your favorite movie’s plot. Write about the things that you think are the reason for a particular scene or dialogue being catchy.

Likewise, if you’re a Copywriter, consider doing a sales letter breakdown. Love Hip-Hop? Consider breaking down your favorite lyrical rap song.

What’s trending now? Bitcoins and NFTs? If you’re interested, do some research and write about those. Write about the rising and downfall of celebrities if you know a thing or two about them. Or about fashion.

Whether it’s a novel or non-fiction, make sure to write something about it. You’re doing a favor to book lovers. Generally we, before buying a book, read a few reviews. Write about a book so that people may read it before grabbing a copy.

It’s more of a copywriting thing, and it’s great for your personal brand. Getting to know your audience is crucial. So consider taking note of what your audience prefers to read the most, and try to write about those on a monthly basis.

Your family or friends might not be interested, but your audience definitely is. Bring the magic of your dreams into your blogs. You never know, someone may get in contact with you through your social media, after reading your blog to help you in some way or the other.

There you go! Start following the advice of taking note of topics when they come into your mind. And you will not have to spend hours coming up with an idea to write about.

Hope you enjoyed reading. Thank you and… Have a great day!
